This character 诬 seems to tell us that a witch’s mouth speaks no good words. Do you still believe in a witch or a wizard?
In ancient times, people trusted a witch or wizard, thinking they can bring good luck, but they didn’t trust a 巫 any more after realizing the tricks, and 巫 became a negative word.
诬 = 讠speak + 巫 witch.
Interestingly, 诬 is a negative word too, and all words with 诬 in the format of 诬～ express negative meanings, such as:
诬告 make a false accusation, e.g. 我相信她是被人诬告的。 I am convinced she has been falsely charged.
诬蔑 slander, e.g. 诬蔑某人的人格 Slander sb’s character.
诬陷 to frame/set up, e.g. 诬陷好人 frame an innocent person. 遭人诬陷 be set up.
